English Estates: Barling Smooth Pot with Silver (T.V.F.) (Replacement Stem) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-38148
Founded by silversmith Benjamin Barling in 1812, Barling is a respected name in English pipe making. Upon its origin, Barling, then B. Barling & Sons, fitted meerschaum bowls with intricate silver mounts, before they transitioned to making briar pipes in 1906. By 1960, the marque was bought by Finlay and would continue to change ownership before it was purchased by Kopp Pipes in 2020.
This Pot from Barling is a striking rendition of the classic shape, with a characteristically squat bowl at the fore of a slender shank-and-stem arrangement. Said bowl is formed by straight walls that rise from a rounded heel to a flat rim. A short shank reaches from of the bowl and pairs to a tapering stem of black acrylic at a silver military mount. The stummel wears a smooth, mahogany finish that showcases lovely bridseye on the left flank of the bowl.
Note: The stem of this piece is a replacement, the price has been adjusted accordingly.
