Originally a silversmith, Chris Askwith used his skills and tools to begin crafting pipes in 2007. Askwith frequently pays homage to Anglo-French shape-chart standards while still incorporating some of his own style. This Billiard from Askwith is incredibly lightweight and an ideal option for travel and on-the-go smoking. The walls of the cylindrical bowl rise from a full-bodied heel to a slightly domed rim that looks into a respectable tobacco chamber. Subtle cheeking along the transition gives way to a trim shank-and-stem arrangement that tapers to the bit. The jet-black acrylic mouthpiece pairs well with the dark sandblasted stummel, the combination giving an overall mysterious and moody aesthetic to the pipe.
