English Estates: The Guildhall Smooth Billiard (186) (by Comoy's) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-38393
One of the oldest marques that still operates today, Comoy's was founded by Francois Comoy in 1825 in the small town of Saint-Claude, France. In the beginning, Francois was limited to using boxwood and clay to craft pipes until his son, Louis, learned about the smoking benefits of briar. In 1879, the Comoys expanded into London, introducing high-quality, briar pipes to English smokers; a decision that brought Comoy's to international recognition. Comoy's remained a family name until it was bought by Cadogan Investments in the early 1980s. This "332" Billiard made for The Guildhall by Comoy's features traditional English shaping cues: the bowl is forward canted and gently tapers to the rim, the shank is proportional to the size of the bowl, and the tapered stem is fashioned from jet-black vulcanite. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in a vibrant contrast stain that highlights handsome grain throughout.
