English Estates: GBD New Standard Smooth Scoop (1960 S) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-38844
Forged in Paris in 1850 by three men looking to make new strides for the pipe industry, GBD was the brainchild of Ganneval, Bondier, and Donninger. Initially specializing in meerschaum pipes, GBD won 15 medals of achievement within its first 40 years. These awards set the stage for the company's success in Europe, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and the U.S.A. Eventually, in 1902, the company was sold to A. Oppenheimer & Co., which brought the business to England. Crafted in the 1960s, this Scoop from GBD is a lightweight and compact option, perfect for travel and on-the-go smoking. Measuring just over four and half inches long, this Nosewarmer is easily clenched and its plump bowl provides a satisfying feel in hand. Said bowl connects to a bent, oval shank and petite saddle stem, the latter cut from jet-black vulcanite to pair well with the ruby-tinged stummel.
