English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (835) (ODA) (F/T) (1985) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-39270
This Dunhill "835" sports a sizable bowl and muscular shank. The stem starts out equally thick and muscular at the junction but displays a long, pronounced taper at the end. The tall walls of the bowl and hearty, rounded stem make it easy to maintain a comfortable and secure grip on this pleasantly plump pipe.
In terms of texture, smooth cross-grain follows the contours of the bowl's cheeking while exemplary birdseye can be found on the fore and aft sides of the bowl, and making its way down the shank. Emphasizing every precious detail of the grain is Dunhill's esteemed Root Briar finish.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
