About This Pipe

Astley's never made its own pipes during its days on Jermyn Street in London's West End, but it did contract the likes of Dunhill and Charatan to make pipes for them under the Astley's brand. This bent Apple from Astley's features a well-rounded bowl sandblasted to bring out some wonderful flame grain and birdseye beneath, giving a dark complexion but still allowing the grain to breathe easily. The generous curve of the stem and the fluid walls of the bowl combine to give this pipe a handsome silhouette, still indicative of the classic Anglo-French idea of a bent Apple.
