English Estates: Dunhill Amber Root Quaint with Calabash Style Shank (5) (2004)
Product Number: 004-002-5556
Without a doubt, this is one of the oddest pipes we've ever had from Dunhill. Odd can be good, though. For example: what about gourd Calabash shapes? This piece looks somewhat like the Dunhill briar Calabash, but the bowl is Apple shaped and the stem and shank appear almost cartoon-bent with a large piece of silver separating the briar from the bit. It is quite the charmer to hold in either hand, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were quite a lot of similar pieces over a century ago.
