This is a pretty sizable pipe, especially within the context of the French shaping school. The transition is neat and well-defined, and the rich contrast stain does a mighty fine job of highlighting a striking grain pattern. Juxtaposed with the dark stain is a lighter, swirled-toffee colored acrylic accent, offering a lovely bit of dynamism to break up the composition. It's unsmoked, too.
