French Estates: Butz-Choquin Roquebrune Spot Carved Rhodesian (1025) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-003-7018
The French marque Butz-Choquin was founded in the 1850s in Metz, France. In 1951, the brand moved to St. Claude, France, the Mecca of French pipe making, where their pipes gained even greater popularity. This Rhodesian by Butz-Choquin displays an auburn, smooth finish that has been spot carved, exposing several chunks of natural briar running along the right side of the stummel, which contrast the swirls of birdseye on the opposing side. The wide bowl, thick shank, and tapered stem on this pipe all contribute to the familiar muscular aesthetic of the Rhodesian shape.
