French Estates: Vuillard Artisan Smooth Bent Dublin (100) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-003-6237
Vuillard was established in 1863 by Henri Vuillard in Saint-Claude, France, and has been a part of the Cuty-Fort group since 1988, merging with the company alongside the brands Jeantet and John Lacroix. While the marque was highly regarded for its production of shape chart standards, they additionally produced more Freehand-esque pieces as part of their Artisan line, something which can be seen in this bent Dublin. The bowl here is quite large at over two and a half inches tall, and flares out to a broad rim capped with asymmetrical plateau. The chamber held within these walls is quite large as well, and the shank that meets the bowl at a wide transition lifts gently to meet a demurely curved saddle stem, keeping the overall length down while offering a comfortable smoking posture. Dressed in a warm, honeyed stain, the grain here is quite nice, and the pipe itself remains unsmoked.
