A pert and sleek Billiard from Jean Lacroix, this piece showcases a conservative shaping style that incorporates some modernist elements of design to great effect. The bowl here is nearly cylindrical, though with a touch of curvature at the mid-set waist and a defined forward cant that lends it a jaunty, dynamic air. A wide transition marks the start of a tapering shank which is here paired to a lithe saddle stem that lends the aft section of this pipe a lovely slenderness. Dressed in a crisp tanblast, the stummel here showcases a handsome grain pattern, with blasted birdseye on either flank of the bowl.
