French Estates: Ropp Vintage Sandblasted (408) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-003-7464

Riding the line between Rhodesian and Tomato, Ropp's "408" poises a squat bowl on the end of a sleek, rounded shank-and-stem combination. The streamlined profile fits in well to the French marque's portfolio, offering a trim, diminutive persona. Like a Tomato, the bowl is squat and wide-set, with a Rhodesian-like ridgeline around the waist, informed by the panels that define the taper toward the rim.

Sourced from old stummels found at the Chapuis-Comoy factory, Ropp's Vintage line presents old-school, classic designs that were turned decades ago but never finished. This piece is dressed in a dark-stained sandblast and fitted with a stem of genuine horn, hearkening back to the style of mouthpieces from the early 1900s. It accentuates the vintage motif, making for a thoroughly retro aesthetic.
