French Estates: Chacom Prestige Smooth Billiard (111) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-003-7876

The Chacom legacy is longstanding, with the Comoy family making pipes as far back as 1825 in the French village of Avignon. The Comoy marque's founder, Henri Comoy, was taken as a prisoner of war in Switzerland in 1870, where he met his cousins, the Chapuis. Here, the idea for a Chapuis-Comoy collaboration was born, which then became fully realized in 1922. This would lead to the "Chacom" marque, a portmanteau of the two family names. With a lithe, lightweight build, this "111" Billiard from Chacom is well-suited to portability. The bowl stands pert and upright, with smooth walls traveling from heel to rim. Out back, a lean shank-and-stem arrangement transitions from the bowl for a sleek profile. The stummel wears a smooth, chestnut stain that reveals pepperings of birdseye across the right flank.
