French Estates: Unknown Carved Fisherman Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-003-8050

Though often seen in meerschaum, briar figural designs are relatively rare, making this Fisherman piece a unique find. Ornately rendered, the bowl here is carved to resemble a smiling a fisherman smoking a pipe. Atop the fisherman's head rests a hat, which doubles as the bowl's rim and marks the start of the bowl's tobacco chamber. An upturned shank emerges from the fisherman's skull and joins a smartly bent tapered stem that promotes a comfortable smoking posture. A warm stain dresses the ensemble and works in concert with the mouthpiece's black complexion to keep the pipe's color palette traditional.
