French Estates: Unknown Carved Viking Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-003-8076

Figural designs are more commonly fashioned from meerschaum due to the material's relative ease of carving, making this briar piece a rarity. Crafted by an unknown maker, this figural is rendered with a depiction of a viking within its hearty bowl, his flowing head of hair topped with a winged helmet and his mustached face carved with a stoic expression. Said bowl is paired to a compact, upturned shank and smartly bent tapered stem, the arrangement offering a comfortable smoking posture. A warm, smooth finish dresses the stummel, accentuating the intricate detail of this piece.
