French Estates: Unknown Carved Ferocious Lion Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-003-8091

Figural pipes are most notably and most often crafted, not from briar, but from meerschaum, the porous material making for a medium more conducive to intricate detail work. This ferocious-looking Lion from an unknown carver leverages briar as its material of choice, making it an intriguing and alluring offering. The bust of the beast is placed at the fore, and it's paired to a lifting shank via a wide transition, the shank taking on a subtle taper to meet the similarly tapering stem of black vulcanite. This shank and stem poise the pipe for comfortable smoking, with the stummel displaying plenty of bespoke detail to appreciate alongside its warm stain.
