French Estates: Chacom Golden Grain Billiard (30) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-003-8120
A timeless rendition of the classic shape, this "30" Billiard from Chacom renders the form with a touch more shank, making for a design that borders on Liverpool territory. The composition features a pert, upright bowl posed at the fore, formed by supple walls traveling from heel to rim. A slender stretch of shank emerges from the bowl and meets a trim tapered stem, the pair keeping the profile sleek and streamlined. Dressed in a fetching chestnut stain, the stummel showcases handsome grain all throughout.
The Chacom legacy is longstanding, with the Comoy family making pipes as far back as 1825 in the French village of Avignon. The Comoy marque's founder, Henri Comoy, was taken as a prisoner of war in Switzerland in 1870, where he met his cousins, the Chapuis. Here, the idea for a Chapuis-Comoy collaboration was born, which then became fully realized in 1922. This would lead to the "Chacom" marque, a portmanteau of the two family names.
