French Estates: Chacom Ariane Smooth Billiard (344) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-003-8189

The largest French brand to still combine tradition, creation, and innovation, Chacom pipes are now sold in over 40 countries. Initially manufacturing boxwood pipes for Napoleon's army, the Comoy family eventually joined forces with their cousins, the Chapuises, as one of the first brands to carve briar pipes. Now known as Chacom, the business has a storied history and is still going strong, providing the world with incredible pipes almost 200 years later.

This "344" smooth Billiard from Chacom is an elegant rendition of the classic silhouette pipe smokers know and love. The tall, cylindrical bowl rises from a curving heel toward the flat rim, opening up to a deep chamber perfect for packing lots of your favorite tobacco. Out back, the shank slims into an oval shape that continues its taper toward the stem all the way to the bit. The sophistication of this pipe is further enhanced by the combination of jet-black vulcanite and rich chestnut stain, both magnifying the detailed birdseye grain most striking along the left flank of the bowl.
