German Estates: Rainer Barbi Smooth Ball (2010-2011) (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-005-4032

Well-defined transitions and a pronounced difference in breadth between a briar's shank and its bowl's "cheeks" are Rainer Barbi signatures, and here we find a fine example of the late German master's use of them. What made these Barbi cues so special wasn't simply that he used them, but that he used them so well, creating this great distinction between what is bowl and what is shank, while still creating shapes that, overall, struck the eye as a perfectly natural, unified whole. And this case, one with, for all its shapeliness, some seriously lovely flow.
