German Estates: Alex Kappeler Smooth Freehand

Product Number: 004-005-4117

This is the first time I have come across the work of Alex Kappeler. Alex is a guitarist and songwriter turned pipe maker. His pipes first became available for sale in 2008. Relatively unknown Stateside, Kappeler has a solid presence in the European market. The Freehand we see here is unique in that it is comprised of a naturalistic and flowing bowl out of which sprouts a clean, classic oval shank with paneled sides. It should be noted that this piece is incredibly light, given its size.
