German Estates: Jurgen Moritz Smooth Apple with Boxwood (98)
Product Number: 004-005-4585
Jurgen Moritz's work is a great example of the German style of shaping in general, which tends to combine the large bowl proportions of the Italian school with the trim, sleek lines and soft curves more common to the Danes. With a plump, low-waisted bowl and neatly canted rim, this Apple is forward-ebbing, while its shank offers a lightness to the form overall. It's been finished in a warm, low-gloss stain, its lighter notes brought out by a pale boxwood stem inlay.
