German Estates: Joura Smooth Freehand (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-005-4886

Karlheinz Joura excels at crafting plump, sinuously bent designs that are often imbued with a playful sense of Danish presence. This Freehand example is dramatic evidence, as it boasts a comforting substance in hand, emphasized by its strong sense of gesture and tightly defined transition. It wears a light stain, highlighting excellent vertical grain around the bowl, which is quite tall and imbued with an Egg-like roundness. The shank begins at an elevated point on the bowl and quickly descends, tapering to the attractive saddle mouthpiece and elevated by a crisp panel along the underside that terminates in a point beneath the transition. Joura's shaping is distinct, recognizable, and admired by enthusiasts everywhere. It's presented here in unsmoked condition.
