German Estates: Joura Smooth Bent Brandy (Infinity C)
Product Number: 004-005-4962
Karlheinz Joura has a deft way with bent Brandies, managing to make them both jutting of gesture and voluptuous of form at the same time; broad-hipped and forward, smooth and firm and graceful, and both deep and lifting of transition - all of that at once. This is an especially fine example of that very Joura sort of Brandy, and, though I'm sure the grain helped it make the Infinity grade, Joura must have been pleased with the shape as well as the grain. A hardwood shank extension offers a bit of contrast at the end of the shank before introducing the half-saddle mouthpiece, both low and reserved, leaving the bowl to accept most of the composition's visual weight.- Chuck Stanion
