German Estates: Tom Richard Smooth Bent Egg with Boxwood
Product Number: 004-005-4995
A former architecture student, Tom Richard fell in love with woodworking and since he was also a pipe smoker, it was a natural for him to attempt to make his own pipe. He visited Danish artisan Poul Winslow and received encouragement to pursue pipe making as a career. Richard's designs display quite a bit of Danish influence, with this bent Egg offering serving as a fine example with its gentle lines and curvaceous shaping. Cross grain frames birdseye along the flanks while the shank face is topped off with pale boxwood before the stem terminates in a gentle downturn.- Jeffery Sitts
