German Estates: Joura Smooth Bent Brandy (Infinity B) (1994) (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-005-17954

The "1994" stamp on this Joura bent Brandy refers not to its carving date but, rather, to when the briar used for it was procured. Without a second stamp denoting the pipe's completion date, it's impossible to know exactly how long this briar block aged before Karlheinz fashioned a pipe from it; however, it stands to reason that a decade or more likely passed. Shape-wise, it fits in well to the German artisan's signature style — the shank extending into the heel to further define the transition and accentuate the lower bowl. It's also quite the compact piece, dressed in a rich stain and still in unsmoked condition.
