German Estates: Axel Reichert Sandblasted Bent Egg Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-005-6348
Axel Reichert received tutelage from the late German master carver Rainer Barbi, and presents here a handy, handsome bent Egg that boasts the similar gentle line work and flowing curves as his mentor. An overall compact design, this piece presents a forward-urging, rather high-reaching bowl, its sloping rim curving upward from the fore to the chamber. A pronounced ridgeline from said rim aligns with the pipe's undercurve in a sweeping bend. There's a deep bend at the transition, the negative space allowing for a digit to rest, while the stout shank flares at its end in an asymmetrical, undulating and smooth accent, its chestnut hues matching that of the inner rim. Dressed in a warm sandblast, there's some stunning grain to be admired, especially along the entire right side.
