With roots dating to 1848, Vauen is Germany's largest and oldest pipe making marque, boasting decades of innovations such as the 9mm pipe filter — a feature the majority of their pipes still utilize today. The Altro series is one defined by the colorful shank end accents which come in both blue and green tones depending on the stummel's finish. Said finishes include both a warm, smooth dressing and a crisp sandblast, both stained a traditional auburn hue that contrasts the accents nicely. Here, the sandblasted iteration dresses Vauen's "37" bent Apple, one which is rich with curvature and offers a supple, comfortable feel in hand.
