One of Germany's premier artisan pipe makers, Karlheinz Joura fashions gorgeous pipes that are sought after by discerning collectors from all over the world. He's fashioned a number of Volcanoes over the years, often changing the proportions or size of the bowl, while retaining the shape's core characteristics. This particular Volcano boasts a stocky, ovoid bowl that stands atop a round, ridgeline-wrapped heel and tapers upward to a taut, forward-slanted rim. Said bowl is married to a gently tapered shank and a demurely curved half-saddle stem, the latter of which promotes a comfortable smoking posture. Dressing this piece is a smoky smooth finish that highlights healthy flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
