With a dramatically lifted heel, a bulging waistline, and a subtly pronounced ridgeline at the fore of the bowl, this "430" bent Pot from Vauen is a unique, eye-catching design. Though broad and squat, the bowl possesses a forward-urging momentum not often associated with the shape, and that momentum is counterbalanced by the high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement that angles in the opposite direction out back. The stummel wears a crisp, earthy-toned sandblast that accentuates the handsome grain orientation of the briar nicely.
