Irish Estates: Peterson Sherlock Holmes Lestrade Smooth (Fishtail) (Unsmoked)

Product Number: 004-004-2456

The "Lestrade" is named after the quick and energetic Scotland Yard inspector, Inspector G. Lestrade, or Mr. Lestrade, a thorough, but wholly conventional individual. He is often nearly correct in his deductions, but tends to miss some crucial element or make some fundamental error in the case at hand, often due to his lack of imagination: "the best of a bad lot who had reached the top in the CID by bulldog tenacity", as Holmes would say.

Here "the most famous detective ever to walk the corridors of Scotland Yard" is honored in this large bent Apple, broad and deeply chambered, given a very masculine profile - perhaps representative of a fellow's spirit to Holmes, as the piece bears the same sinuous nature of his Calabash; the form is easy, smooth, and content, the kind meant to be simply cradled in palm while you remain fixed in one place. A silver band is mounted at the end of the shank bearing the Holmes collection logo.
