Irish Estates: Peterson Galway with Silver (406) (Made for Shannon Airport) (P-Lip)

Product Number: 004-004-7574

Peterson used to maintain a small shop in Shannon Airport's Duty Free, mostly in the 1970s, and the pipes sold there were stamped to reflect that, with this "406" Prince offering being one such piece. The "406" is Peterson's definitive take on the classic Prince shape. Seemingly plucked straight from a vintage English catalog, the profile displays the design's characteristically long, slightly downturned stem, informing its reputation for elegance. The bowl is squat and plump, with perhaps some extra heft to its base, per Peterson's signature shaping style, but the shank and transition are decidedly trimmer, catering more to traditional Anglo-French proportions than the robust, muscular aesthetic seen throughout the Irish marque's portfolio. It's dressed here in the walnut stain of the Galway series, accented by a bright sterling silver band and notably still features its original stinger.
