Irish Estates: Peterson Derry Rusticated (502) (Fishtail)
Product Number: 004-004-8516
Larger than their "87" design, Peterson's "502" straight Apple is a robust, plump rendition that maintains the marque's signature shaping style of focusing on stout shanks and hearty bowls. Said bowl features some extra substance around its low-set waistline before subtly tapering up toward the rim, while the sleek tapered mouthpiece places more visual weight on the stummel.
Similar to the Donegal Rocky series, Peterson's Derry line dresses pipes in a rugged rustication, but instead of a jet-black mouthpiece, the Derry features an acrylic stem of swirling chocolate and caramel tones. Named after the second largest city in Ireland, known for its distinctively hilly topography, this series appropriately dresses the stummel of each piece in a craggy, well-textured rustication with an earthy walnut stain over top. A bright nickel army mount completes the presentation, offering some aesthetic flash and allowing the pipe to be broken down easily for cleaning.- Jeffery Sitts
