Irish Estates: Peterson Kinsale Rusticated (XL29) (Fishtail) (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-004-8759
Peterson's Kinsale line features the same designs from the marque's commemorative Sherlock Holmes series, with this "XL29" corresponding to the Sylvius shape, named after Count Negretto Sylvius, the villain of The Adventure of the Mazarin Stone. The Count's name is derived from Latin words for "black" and "wood" — a crafty allusion, of sorts, to the murky forests of so many fables and quite befitting the antagonist for whom Sherlock spends much of the story waiting through the night, in expectation that the nobleman-turned-diamond-thief will try to assassinate him. Shape-wise, the "XL29," displays a towering Billiard bowl that houses a Stack-like chamber, all framed within a classically inclined rendition of the shape-chart standard. Its muscularity is emphasized in this craggy rusticated finish, handsomely complemented by brass and nickel accents along the shank end.- Jeffery Sitts
