Irish Estates: Peterson Sterling (406) (P-Lip) (1938-1947)

Product Number: 004-004-8864

While the "408" does display Prince-like elements, the "406" is Peterson's definitive take on the classic Prince shape. Seemingly plucked straight from a vintage English catalog, this piece displays a straight stem rather than a softly downturned mouthpiece. The bowl is squat and plump, with perhaps some extra heft to its base, per Peterson's signature shaping style, but the shank and transition are decidedly trimmer, catering more to traditional Anglo-French proportions than the robust, muscular aesthetic seen throughout the Irish marque's portfolio. This vintage example was crafted sometime between 1938 and 1947 and is further commended by Peterson's esteemed silverwork, offering beautiful contrast against the reserved auburn stain and further solidifying this pipe's classic appeal.
