Irish Estates: Peterson Arklow Sandblasted Red (B47) (Fishtail) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-004-10448
Very similar to Peterson's "B57" Dublin, which was originally released as the Port shape within the four-pipe Iceberg 1912 Collection, the "B47" is likewise a robust, forward-canted rendition of the classic shape. Also like the "B57," the "B47" was originally part of a special, limited series: the Writers Collection. The select line commemorated historic authors, with this shape dubbed "Wilde," but outside of that series, it's distinguished as the "B47." It presents a hearty, deep chambered bowl upon a firm heel and with a slightly pinched waist to accentuate the bowl's curves and call to mind the bowl of Peterson's iconic "05" Bell/Calabash design. This particular example is found in the red-tinged sandblast of the Arklow series, fitted to a nickel army mount.
