Irish Estates: Peterson Donegal Rocky with Silver (106S) (P-Lip) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-004-13413
Peterson features several straight Billiards on their shape chart, such as the "06," "X105," and "106," and each vary slightly in regards to overall size and relative proportions, catering to smokers' preferences in chamber size, weight, and length. The "106," seen here, is one of the Irish marque's larger renditions — a touch taller and longer than both the "06" and "X105." It also exemplifies Peterson's hearty sense of proportions through the shank and transition, perfect for those who enjoy substantial briars and muscular iterations of classic shapes, with this particular "106S" version featuring a trim saddle stem.
Named after County Donegal in northwest Ireland, Peterson's Donegal Rocky series offers one of the Irish firm's most distinctive and immediately recognizable finishes. Much like the mountainous region it's inspired by, the rustication style of the Donegal Rocky line is incredibly craggy and provides plenty of stimulating texture, transforming any pipe that wears it into a rugged workhorse smoker. Peterson's first rusticated finish, the Donegal Rocky dates back to 1945, and this particular example is presented here with a bright brand of sterling silver.
