Italian Estates: Ser Jacopo Smooth Billiard with Silver (L1)

Product Number: 004-006-8812

A curious thing about the Pesaro school, and Ser Jacopo in particular, is the way they can make shapes which are at once completely novel, yet have a certain style about them that nonetheless strikes the eye as classical, even antiquarian. Such is the case with this bent Billiard, which balances out its lofty-rimmed bowl with what appears to be an extra-long reinterpretation of the Hawkbill shape's signature aquiline shank and stem. The design is a modern hybrid, yet the lines and form, not to mention the reserved finish and tasteful sterling silver accent, seem like something you could picture an aristocrat of a hundred years past puffing on.
