Italian Estates: Gabriele Sandblasted Bent Egg (Butterfly)

Product Number: 004-006-9281

Even though, you can see influences emerging from the Danes, as evident in the flow and flaring Iversson-esque shank, here Gabriele takes predominantly from the Japanese, and their affinity towards taking influence from nature. In the asymmetricality of the bowl and the rugged, earthy toned sandblast, we see the employment of more ancient aesthetic philosophies like Wabi-Sabi, the reverence for simplicity, modesty, and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes. Strange, but working in modes such as this, Gabriele could easily apprentice under Kazuhiro Fukuda, and rise to be his number one pupil.
