Italian Estates: Becker Smooth Poker (Three Hearts) (2006) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

After his recent passing, I was wondering when we'd see another Becker briar turn up in estates and from which distinct Becker style it would represent. Here we see a briar from 2006, around the time when Paolo was experimenting with pencil-thin transitions and crisp forms. Such an approach produced trim, active numbers like this smooth Poker — with a bowl as tall as any Stack, a transition that's both well-defined and neat, and a long, slender stretch of shank and stem. I'm not sure how many more of these we'll see in the coming years, but I for one will be quite honored to describe them when we do.
