Italian Estates: Savinelli Venere Rusticated (626) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-006-21402
There's a certain naturalness to these Venere series pipes, namely in the tones of the stain — seemingly varying in shade around this piece giving an aged, organic look to the composition. This bent Apple bears the Venere dress well. From the uniform rustication to the smooth rim, it's all tinged in earthy colors dedicated to Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Venere, Italian for Venus, specifically pays tribute to the Florentine Renaissance artist Botticelli, whose work The Birth of Venus eventually became one of the most respected early works coming out of the Florentine school.
