Italian Estates: Castello Old Antiquari Rusticated Zulu (38) (KKK) (1970s-1982)
Product Number: 004-006-23280
While Castello no longer uses shape numbers in their current production lines, there are some that have stuck with their designs — the "55" bent Pot and "10" Brucianaso both come to mind in particular. Offered here is the Italian workshop's "38" Zulu/Yachtsman. Renditions differ in regards to length and proportions, and this vintage number from between the '70s and 1982 is of the more compact variety, still with plenty of the chamber but the shimmering acrylic stem having been abbreviated a touch. It's a sleek, forward-urging design, marked by a firm heel and steadily flaring profile. It's dressed in the rusticated version of the Old Antiquari line, topped with a fumed rim for a thoroughly Italian aesthetic. Just some rim darkening and chamber carbonizing to note condition-wise.-Truett Smith
