If you swapped out the finish and stem on this briar, it could pass for a Danish design: The flow is easy and smooth and the bowl plump and curvaceous. Proportion-wise, though, it falls squarely within Italian neoclassic conventions, the bowl dominating the visual weight in profile, and the finish is vintage Ardor — a craggy iteration of the Urano rustication, lightly stained to complement the semi-translucent, tortoiseshell-hued acrylic stem. Unsmoked.
