Italian Estates: Ingo Moretti Recanti Smooth Bent Dublin (Extra) (Special)
Product Number: 004-006-24777
Moretti pipes are currently fashioned by Marco Biagini, but decades ago, they were made by his father-in-law, Ingo Moretti, who passed away in 2005. As such, this is a much older ancestor to Biagini's Moretti pipes. A rather straightforward take on the bent Dublin, this piece from Ingo forgoes the often dramatic proportions often employed by Italian pipemakers. That said, it still displays the conventional firm heel and robust shaping all around. The stem is slightly bent to balance out the weight and inform the bowl's subtle forward cant, and it's seen here wearing a reserved finish for traditional appeal.-Truett Smith
