Italian Estates: Tom Spanu Smooth Cherrywood (F2) (2007)

Product Number: 004-006-25987

Italian pipe maker Tommaso Spanu unfortunately passed away in 2015, but has left behind quite a respected legacy with his impressive portfolio of briars like this sure-sitting Cherrywood design. The bowl is positioned at a slight forward cant but is balanced by the high-kicking shank and stem combination out back. This piece also showcases Spanu's talented ability to read the briar's natural grain patterns, with pinpricks of birdseye dominating the rim and flattened heel while streaks of flame grain wrap around the bowl.
