Italian Estates: Castello Collection Great Line Cherrywood with Kimberlite (KK) (2000) (Unsmoked)
Product Number: 004-006-25613
Exquisite streaks of flame grain and unabashedly bold Italian proportions all combine here to create one of the most sought-after Castello pipes: The Collection Great Line. What makes this Cherrywood truly unique and sets it apart from other Great Lines is the addition of an exotic kimberlite accent around the stem base. At first glance, it initially appears to resemble some sort of spalted hardwood, but kimberlite is actually a type of igneous rock that's historically associated with being one of the greatest sources of naturally occurring diamonds. And while the Italian workshop commonly utilizes gold leaf, briar, and silver as accenting materials, kimberlite is by far the rarest of them all. There's truly no telling when another one may come around, making this an incredibly unique piece that will surely be the centerpiece of any collection and be the envy of any Castello devotee. Not to mention, it sits sturdily on its flattened base and has remained unsmoked since it was carved back in 2000.- Jeffery Sitts
