Italian Estates: Davide Iafisco Partially Sandblasted Blowfish Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-006-26949

The Blowfish is an excellent shape for showcasing different types of grain patterns (namely, cross grain and birdseye), as the crisp, tight lines serve to separate the regions on display. So why not make use of the form to showcase some differing grain textures as well via a dual finish? That's exactly what Davide Iafisco has done in this rendition. It's a stylistic choice we've seen from the Italian artisan in the past, and in this case, he's kept the palette rather consistent between smooth and blasted regions, making for a more subtle contrast that relies mostly on the smoker's tactile interaction with the pipe. Coupled with that, the whorls of textured birdseye complement a kiss of plateau at the end of the tightly-curling shank, framed by a lane of gorgeous cross grain. Lovely work.
