Italian Estates: Ardor Urano Maigret Billiard with Silver (DR) (2003)
Product Number: 004-006-29397
Ardor's Maigret design takes its name from Jules Amedée François Maigret, the famous detective of French fiction. Well, mostly fiction; pipe smoker and prolific author Georges Simenon began his 75-novel, 28-short story run of Maigret tales with a wholly invented character, but it wasn't long before Simenon became strongly influenced by the real-life Chief Inspector Marcel Guillaume, with whom Simenon came to cultivate a long-running friendship. The shape itself, as you might expect, follows that preferred by Maigret's character as seen in various depictions: a sturdy, straight Billiard.- Andrew Wike
