Bruto Sordini of Don Carlos has done a magnificent job with this piece, highlighting excellent grain around the entire bowl and transitioning to a sinuous shank and saddle stem arrangement, leaving the visual weight forward and on the bowl, where it should be in this case. It urges forward slightly, balancing the visual momentum of the S-curve, and the rim is slightly tapered — the entire stummel dressed in a warm, grain-defining, auburn stain. Unsmoked.
