Italian Estates: Castello 'Castello' Bent Billiard (KKKK)

The stummel of this Castello piece calls to mind the traditional Canadian, the shank being elongated and pinched to an oval cross section and fitted with an upright Billiard bowl. The slight bend of the tapered stem, however, lends this piece a completely different aesthetic, almost calling to mind the Hawkbill design as the arch of the stem seems to continue through the shank in a sort of optical illusion. Such shaping adds sleekness and dynamism to the composition, and it's a design that's quintessentially Castello.
