Italian Estates: Mario Grandi Smooth Devil Anse (Unsmoked)

This Mario Grandi Devil Anse is one of the more traditionally inclined pieces I've seen from Aldo Pierluigi. departing dramatically from his wild, complex Freehand designs. Though this interpretation is noticeably longer and more robust than is typical of the Devil Anse shape, it displays a canted, Egg-like bowl paired to an arrow-straight shank-and-stem combination. A lovely mix of birdseye and cross grain surrounds the bowl's flanks, with a pale accent ring around the shank end adding to the visual interest of this remarkable, unsmoked pipe.
